Spray Polyurethane Foam on Balcony Walls
Windows, awnings and air conditioning units were wrapped in plastic sheeting, then the balcony walls were insulated with spray polyurethane foam.

Step by step
1. Covering up

Before spraying, doors, windows and awnings are covered. The foam travels as a fine cloud, and anything left uncovered gets marked.
2. Spraying

Spray polyurethane foam goes onto the whole wall from a spray gun and expands into one continuous insulating layer.
3. Section by section

The wall is covered section by section while the balcony door stays wrapped.
4. Around the windows

The foam goes right up to the window frames and over the air conditioning pipe on the wall, leaving no gap behind it.
5. The texture

The foam surface comes out slightly lumpy. It is one continuous layer, with no joints for heat or cold to get through.
6. The result

The balcony walls are insulated from end to end, with no marks on the frames or the awnings.
