Spray Polyurethane Foam on a Ceiling, Painted White

Step by step

1. Protecting the room

A room covered in plastic sheeting from ceiling to floor

Walls, windows and everything in the room are covered in plastic. Spraying puts fine droplets in the air, and everything has to stay clean.

2. The ceiling before

The ceiling before spraying, with the windows covered

The ceiling is ready for spraying and everything below it is protected.

3. Spraying

A worker spraying foam onto the ceiling

Spray polyurethane foam goes over the whole surface and forms one continuous insulating layer with no joints.

4. The light fittings

A light fitting wrapped in plastic on the sprayed ceiling

The light fittings are wrapped so they stay clean, and the foam is sprayed carefully around them.

5. Painting

A worker on a stepladder painting the ceiling white

White paint goes over the foam, protecting it and making the ceiling bright.

6. White over the foam

The ceiling half beige and half painted white

Here you can see the difference: the beige foam and the white paint covering it.

7. The finished ceiling

A lantern hanging under the white ceiling

A white ceiling with a soft texture that keeps the room cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

8. The result

The finished space, with the wooden lattice

The plastic comes down and the space is ready again, now with an insulated ceiling.
