Drag to compare

Step by step

1. The roof before

The dark surface of the roof

The old dark coating was worn out, shiny in some places and frayed in others.

2. Damage at the railing

Broken coating at the base of the railing

At the base of the railing the coating had broken and a hole had opened. Spots like this are repaired first.

3. Across the whole surface

The roof with the air-conditioning unit

The wear covered the whole roof, even around the equipment.

4. The parapet

The worn parapet with its railing

The parapet had also gone black and frayed. The waterproofing has to go up there too, or water gets in at the edges.

5. Details first

The base of the railing covered in white waterproofing

Corners, railing bases and joints are covered first, because that is where leaks usually start.

6. White waterproofing

Rolling on the white waterproof coating

The white waterproof coating is rolled out over the whole surface.

7. Nearly done

The roof almost completely white

The coating reaches the edges and runs up the parapets.

8. The result

The white roof with the air-conditioning unit

One continuous white roof. The white reflects the sun, so the flat below heats up less.
