Step by step
1. Damp low on the walls

Damp was rising from below, and the paint above the skirting boards had bubbled and peeled.
2. Scraping

Anything that has bubbled is scraped back to a sound surface. Otherwise the new paint comes off together with the old.
3. The collapsed ceiling

In one room a section of ceiling plaster had come down, exposing the structure above.
4. Plastering and filling

The ceiling is re-plastered and the walls are filled. The white areas are patches that get sanded before painting.
5. Protecting the space

Furniture that stays in the room is covered before painting.
6. The result

Clean walls and ceilings throughout the apartment.
