Step by step
1. The space before
An empty commercial space with a stained floor, leftovers from earlier work and worn walls.
2. Clearing out
First the space is cleared and cleaned. Everything left over goes into bags.
3. Light walls
In the main areas the walls are painted a light colour that suits the glass partitions and keeps the space bright.
4. A blue band low down
A dark blue band runs along the lower part of the walls, where it hides the marks of everyday use.
5. A wall in blue
Beside the staircase a whole wall was painted blue-grey and draws the eye.
6. The space in its new colours
The colours repeat throughout, so the whole space feels like one.
7. Orange doors
The toilet doors were painted the same orange as the feature wall.
8. And soft grey
Other doors were given a soft grey to balance the stronger colours.
