Insulation
Roof Insulated with Spray Polyurethane Foam
The roof was covered with one continuous layer of polyurethane foam that runs up the walls and around the bases of the air conditioning units.

Step by step
1. One layer over the whole roof

The foam is sprayed over the entire surface and forms one continuous layer with no joints. It keeps out heat and cold and leaves no seams for water to find.
2. Around the air conditioning units

Equipment bases and pipes crossing the roof are usually the weak points. The foam wraps around them on every side.
3. Up the walls

At the corner between floor and wall the layer doesn't stop. It carries on up the wall, so there is no open joint.
4. The edges

The foam also covers the edges of the slab, so the insulation doesn't stop short at the rim.
5. The result

One insulated surface from edge to edge. The flat below is shielded from the heat in summer and the cold in winter.
