Paved Roof Insulated with Spray Foam
The roof was washed, sprayed with polyurethane foam over the old paving, and became one light-coloured surface around the solar water heaters and machinery.

Step by step
1. Washing

The old paved surface is pressure washed to remove the dust and dirt that would stop the foam from bonding.
2. The whole surface

The whole roof is cleaned, right up to the railings.
3. The machine

The machine feeds the spray gun with the two materials that turn into foam when they meet.
4. Spraying

The foam is sprayed over the paving and expands almost at once into one continuous insulating layer. The sprayer wears a protective suit and mask.
5. Around the machinery

The foam also wraps the bases of the ventilation units.
6. Under the solar heaters

The same goes for the legs of the solar water heaters, which are often where water gets in.
7. The result

One continuous, light-coloured surface across the whole roof. It insulates the building and leaves no joints for water.
