White Waterproofing Membrane on a Roof with a Solar Heater
A roof's old surface was ground back, primed and covered with a white liquid membrane, from the low walls to under the solar heater frame.

Step by step
1. Grinding

The old, worn surface is ground back. Loose material comes off and leaves a clean base for the membrane to bond to.
2. Around the solar heater frame

The preparation also covers the ground between the legs of the frame, which is hard to reach but often where water pools.
3. Primer

The primer binds the remaining dust and helps the membrane stick firmly to the concrete.
4. Low walls first

The white membrane goes on the low walls and corners first, since they are the most sensitive spots.
5. The result

The whole roof gets one continuous white layer, even under the solar heater frame. The white reflects the sun and keeps the home below cooler.
