Step by step

1. After the fire

The room blackened by the fire

Soot covered the walls and ceiling, and the heat had loosened plaster and paint.

2. Assessing the damage

Burnt walls and fallen plaster

Before anything else we check what is still sound and what has to go. Anything the heat has loosened comes off.

3. Cleaning the ceiling

The ceiling during cleaning

The soot is cleaned off section by section. Paint over it and the stain comes back through the new paint.

4. Repairs and primer

The room after the repairs

The plaster is repaired and a stain-blocking primer goes on, so the final paint stays clean.

5. Painting

Walls painted again

Two coats of paint on the walls and ceiling.

6. The result

The finished room, with the light fitting back in place

A bright room, ready to be used again.
