Step by step

1. Stripped to the brick

Bare brick walls and the frame for a concealed cistern

Tiles and plaster come off down to the brick. A frame for a wall-hung toilet with a concealed cistern goes on the wall, which saves space in such a narrow room.

2. Plastering

Plaster being spread over the brick

Plaster is spread over the brick and covers the new pipework.

3. Plastered walls

The WC with every wall plastered and the supply points sticking out

Every wall is now plastered, with the water points sticking out where the fixtures will go.

4. Smooth walls

Smooth white walls with the supply points in place

The walls are smoothed so the final surface comes out straight and clean.

5. Floor tiles

New grey tiles being laid on the floor

The large grey tiles are laid around the floor drain, with spacers that keep the joints straight.
