Step by step
1. Damp at the base of the walls

Low on the walls the damp had blown the plaster and the paint was falling onto the floor.
2. Scraping back to a sound surface

The loose paint and plaster are removed and the gaps are filled.
3. White again

The wall painted and even from ceiling to floor.
4. Paint coming away

In another room, old layers of paint had come away in large patches.
5. Work by hand

Every loose piece is scraped off by hand. Leave even a little and the new paint will peel off with it.
6. Mould on the ceiling

Around the water heater pipe the ceiling had turned black with mould.
7. A clean ceiling

The mould is cleaned off before painting, otherwise it comes back through the new paint.
8. The apartment ready

Freshly painted walls and door frames throughout the home.
