Slab-Paved Terrace Waterproofed with a White Coating
The old terrace slabs were ground and cleaned, the bases of posts and railings were sealed, and the whole surface was coated in white waterproofing.

Step by step
1. Where we started

The slabs were stained and worn with age, and the joints between them are always a likely place for leaks.
2. Grinding

The grinder removes hard residue and uneven spots, especially near the parapets.
3. A clean surface

The surface is cleared of dust and loose material so the coating bonds well.
4. Post bases

Each post set into the slab first gets a ring of white sealant, because cracks open easily there.
5. The railings

The same goes for the railing bases on top of the parapet.
6. Primer

Primer goes over the whole surface. It soaks into the pores of the slabs and helps the waterproofing stick.
7. White waterproofing

The white waterproofing is rolled on over the primer and taken up the parapets.
8. The result

One continuous white surface with no joints. It reflects the sun and keeps the floor below cooler.
