Full Bathroom Renovation: From a Green Bathtub to a Walk-in Shower
A bathroom with old tiles and a green bathtub was taken back to bare brick and rebuilt from scratch: pipework, render, tiles and fixtures.

Step by step
1. The old bathroom

Patterned tiles from another era, a green bathtub and pipework that had done its time.
2. Demolition

The tiles, the bathtub and the old render all come off until the brick shows.
3. New pipework

With the walls open, new water and drain pipes go in, routed to where the new fixtures will sit.
4. Floor

A new floor sloped toward the drain, so shower water runs away instead of pooling.
5. Rendering

The walls are rendered again and made straight, ready for the final coat.
6. A final coat of render

A last coat of render leaves the walls smooth and straight, so the tiles sit properly.
7. Tiles and fixtures

Large wall tiles, a dark floor and a feature wall in the shower area.
8. The shower

The bathtub became a floor-level shower with a glass panel and a heated towel rail.
